Tresorit offers two different types of add-ins for Outlook: our Outlook desktop add-in for Windows and the newer M365 Outlook add-in. This article is about the Windows Outlook add-in.
💡 Did you know? If you set up policies for link creation (such as expiry dates, mandatory passwords, etc.), these will also apply to the documents shared through both of our Outlook add-ins.

Control the deployment of the Tresorit Outlook plugin with an admin policy
As a Tresorit administrator, you can set if the Windows Outlook plugin should be installed automatically or not. The following options are available:
Mandatory installation The Tresorit for Outlook plugin will be installed with the Windows desktop client. The users are not allowed to uninstall it from the Tresorit client. Please note: Further Windows Group policy setup is needed to ensure the plugin is installed and enabled. More information is available in the other section of this page.
Automatic installation The Tresorit for Outlook plugin will be installed with the Windows desktop client, but the users may uninstall the plugin manually.
Plugin is disabled The Tresorit for Outlook plugin will not be installed with the Windows desktop client, and the users will not be able to install it manually. This option will uninstall the plugin if installed on the user's machine.
Always enable the Tresorit Outlook plugin with a Windows group policy
As a Windows admin, you can set Group policies to make sure that the Tresorit Windows Outlook plugin is running on the user's machine.
The List of managed add-ins policy should be used to set the Tresorit Outlook plugin (ProgID: Tresorit) always to be enabled.
