From time to time, your may receive an email notification about a new login attempt from an unkown location. Or alternatively, your Admin Center login reports may list IP locations you are not familiar with. If you made sure that no unauthorized person has accessed your account, then something could have gone wrong with the report itself.
To report your location, Tresorit uses an external provider’s database from where we receive database updates on a monthly basis. Please note that your geo-location is an estimate based on your IP address and its accuracy is completely controlled on our partner’s side.
The most efficient way to handle the wrong location being displayed, would be reporting the issue whenever you notice it on our partner’s site at https://db-ip.com/ .
- Visit https://db-ip.com/
- Enter the wrong IP address in the upper right corner’s search box and hit search.
- Scroll down and click the <Report wrong data> link.
- Follow our partner’s instructions to complete your submission.
To make sure your account is in right hands we would kindly advise you to check another database https://www.iplocation.net/, where the accuracy of several databases - including https://db-ip.com/ - can be compared.
