AutoLogin is a feature, that allows you to log in automatically to your Tresorit account at the same time when logging in to your Windows account.
In this tutorial, learn more about:
How does it work?
With AutoLogin enabled, a one-way derivative of your login password is stored on your local hard disk encrypted by Windows using your Windows login password. This derived secret does not enable password recovery but helps you by downloading your Roaming Profile automatically and thus connecting your tresors. Since the derived secret is encrypted with your Windows login password, we advise you to choose a strong Windows password for that purpose.
Without your password you will not be able to log in to your Tresorit account anymore, except if Autologin was enabled. Your login password is not stored anywhere, neither by the software on your machine nor by the team of Tresorit. Not even AutoLogin stores your password in plaintext, only a one-way derivative of it. Therefore there is no way for password recovery, however if you can access your account on any of your devices, you will be able to create a new password with a Password code.
How do I set up AutoLogin?
Take these steps to set up AutoLogin:
- Open a Tresorit client and visit < Settings > / < Preferences > menu.
- Switch < Start Tresorit when system starts > and < Remember me on this computer > on.
