Tresorit Engage provides a seamless and secure environment for businesses to share sensitive information and collaborate with clients and partners. To ensure security and control, only authenticated users can access Engage Rooms—all invitees must have or create a Tresorit account.
Inviting collaborators
Invitees need a Tresorit account to access a room. If they don’t have one yet, they’ll be prompted to register using the invited email address before joining.
To invite someone to a room
- In the Engage Rooms view, hover over the room you want to share.
- Click the three dots (•••) in the lower-right corner and select Share (or use the Share option in the room dashboard).
- Click Invite members.
- Enter the collaborator’s email address (separate multiple addresses with commas).
- Set the permission level.
- Click Send invitation.
- You’ll receive a notification email once the invitation is accepted.
Accepting and declining invitations
The invitation process varies slightly depending on whether the invited person already has a Tresorit account:
- Existing users receive an automated invitation email.
- New users will need to register before accessing the room; in these cases, share the invite link manually.

Access roles & permissions
Engage Rooms use role-based permissions to enforce least-privilege access—protecting content integrity, supporting compliance, and tailoring collaboration to each stakeholder’s needs.
User roles vs. access permissions
Tresorit Engage permissions define what you can do within each shared room. Your Tresorit subscription role (e.g. admin, user) controls what settings you can access organization-wide (billing, user management, security).
📝 Note: A business subscription doesn’t automatically grant access to shared rooms; some features require a Tresorit Engage license.
With correct permissions, users can manage the document lifecycle—securely storing/sharing files, assigning tasks, and collecting signatures—to streamline collaboration.
Permission levels
Depending on their assigned role, users can access or modify the dashboard, tasks, and documents within a room:
- Room Owner: Full access to all features (except branding settings unless also SecureCloud admin).
- Manager: Can edit the dashboard, assign/manage tasks, invite members, and monitor progress; cannot delete the room.
- Contributor: Can view, upload, edit, and delete tasks and documents.
