When you uninstall Tresorit, the desktop app and its local settings are removed from your computer.
- Syncing with the cloud will stop.
- Your local Tresorit profile, sync information, and preferences will be deleted.
- Files already synced or downloaded to your computer remain untouched.
- Your Tresorit account is not affected – you can still log in to the Web Access or reinstall the desktop app at any time.

- Open the Start Menu.
- Go to Settings → Apps → Installed apps.
- Click the three dots
next to Tresorit.
- Select Uninstall.
- Confirm to remove Tresorit completely.
- Open Finder.
- Go to Applications.
- Right-click Tresorit and choose Show Package Contents.
- Navigate to Contents → MacOS.
- Click Uninstall.
- Enter your admin password to complete the process.
- Open a terminal.
- Go to the directory where Tresorit is installed (the default is at ~/.local/share/tresorit).
- Run ./uninstall.sh.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
