When a Qualified Electronic Signature request is created the sender requires the signer(s) to verify their identity before signing the document. This verification process is conducted by a Qualified Trust Service Provider (QTSP). A trust service provider (TSP) provides digital certificates to create and validate electronic signatures and to authenticate signatories.
🏆 Tip: You can learn more about Qualified electronic Signatures here: FAQ - Qualified electronic Signatures
Tresorit uses Evrotrust to help identify the signer of a document, who is listed as a European trust service provider. After successful identification a digital certificate is issued to the signer, which is automatically attached to their signature during the signing process, thus ensuring that the signer's identity is verified and supervised.
📝 Note: Evrotrust does not have an access to the Qualified Electronic Signature request made via Tresorit, thus the documents cannot be found in their mobile application after signing.

Security and data protection
Is the electronic signature of Evrotrust secure?
The remote-qualified electronic signature of Evrotrust offers a much higher level of security than the standard electronic signatures created on smart cards.
An electronic signature is created through cryptographic encryption and decryption algorithms using cryptographic keys. In electronic signatures on smart cards, the private key for creating the signature is stored on an additional device that requires knowledge, driver installation, and dependence on a specific computer.
The technology developed by Evrotrust enables the private key to be stored in a remote cloud-based hardware crypto module (HSM) with the highest level of protection, and not in an additional device, as is the case with standard electronic signatures, or even in the phone itself. It doesn't matter if you lose your phone or how
many devices you use it on. Your mobile phone is just the link to your "safe" where your secret key is.
To create the signature, you use something you have (your phone and the private key stored in the "safe") and something you know (your PIN). Each time you sign in to the app and sign a document, you'll be required to enter a PIN or other biometrics your phone has (fingerprint, facial image, iris biometrics, voice photo, etc.), and each time you sign out, a notification message is sent.
In sofar, the qualified electronic signature of Evrotrust is created remotely, in a system to which neither the user nor the provider of the electronic service has access, as well as due to the fact that two channels are used - for the creation of the document and its signing, the system is practically immune to hacker attacks.
In addition to the above, the activities of Evrotrust and its employees are insured by a leading European insurance company against all risks of professional negligence with a high level of insurance coverage.
How is my data protected?
Evrotrust is a registered administrator of personal data by the Commission for Personal Data Protection according to the requirements of the law (certificate No. 415994), including for the purposes of remote video identification. The maintained records for the processing of personal data have the highest possible level of security.
The electronic signature from Evrotrust is cloud-based. No confidential or sensitive information is stored on your smart device.
Can someone misuse the photo on my document?
No, your data is protected. Evrotrust is obliged by law to identify the person before issuing an electronic signature. We are certified to handle personal data. In addition, the photo is not stored on the phone. It is transmitted through an encrypted connection to the secure environment of Evrotrust.
