When multiple members of a shared folder edit the same file at the same time, Tresorit creates additional copies with conflict in their names to prevent changes from being lost. This allows everyone to continue working without locking the file for others.
Conflict files usually occur in the following situations:
- Two or more people edit the same file simultaneously.
- The same person edits the file on multiple devices at the same time.
- A file remains open on a device while changes are syncing.
- Syncing is interrupted by network issues or timing conflicts while the file is being edited.
If this happens, compare the files and keep the version you need.
Prevent conflict files
- Close files when you finish editing them.
- Avoid editing the same file simultaneously with others.
- Use editing badges (available for Business and Enterprise plans) to let others know a file is being edited.
