Access roles & permissions in Tresorit Engage

Tresorit Engage uses role-based permissions to ensure least-privilege access, protecting room content and clearly defining what each participant can and cannot do.

Subscription roles vs. room permissions

Tresorit subscription roles (admin or user) control what members can manage at the subscription level. Engage room permissions are separate – they define what participants can do inside a room.

ℹ️ A Tresorit subscription doesn't automatically grant access to Engage rooms; a Tresorit Engage license is required.

Permission levels

Permission levels determine what participants can do within a room.

Owner

• Full access to all room features and settings

Manager

• Can customize the room
• Can invite members (only with Contributor or Viewer access)
• Can manage tasks, documents, and pages
• Cannot delete the room (can only leave it)

Contributor

• Cannot change room settings or invite members
• Can view tasks; can complete assigned tasks only
• Can manage documents
• Can edit existing pages; cannot create or delete them

Viewer

• Read-only access to the room
• Cannot modify content or settings
• Only eSign tasks can be assigned to them
