Document analytics is a link setting that you can enable when sharing a link to a file. It helps to track how recipients engage with your content, without sacrificing security. Document analytics allow you to make better decisions, identify documents that help you close deals by seeing exactly who’s spending time on which part of your document. Insights help you to prepare for conversations with clients, decide what to focus on and learn which parts to optimize for better results.
How to set up document analytics
- Web
- Desktop and mobile
- Select the file you wish to share and track and click “Share”
- Select “Link settings” and navigate to “Advanced Settings”
- Enable Detailed access logs
- Check “Log page view data”
- Select the file you wish to share and track and click “Share”

Once enabled, the recipient will get a notification on the download page about the list of requested information (IP Address, and approximate location, pages viewed and view time per page). The content only becomes available if the recipient.
Access the report via the “Shared Links” tab by navigating to the file you sent and selecting “Access logs”.
