There are several cases when you may need to reset or delete your account: if you forget your password, need to change your email address or if you want to stop using Tresorit.
Deleting your Tresorit account is a permanent action and there’s no way to reverse it. Read on if you wish to cancel your subscription and leave Tresorit for good.

Avoid data loss
Make sure you transfer the ownership of your tresors to someone else. After you delete your account, syncing will stop and your content will be deleted from the cloud.
Collaborators will receive a notification indicating that they don’t have access to the tresor in the cloud anymore. However, previously synced content will be available on their computer.
📝 Note: Deleting your account will not delete the files in the tresors that were previously synced to your hard drive or to the computers of those you are collaborating with. Learn how to remote wipe data from your devices.
How to delete your account
Follow these steps if you want to stop using Tresorit and delete your account with all stored data. In case you forgot your password and can’t sign in, visit this article and learn how you can reset your account.

- Open Web Access.
- Click on your name on the right and select Profile.
- Scroll down to the Delete your account section.
- Click Delete my account.
- Click Cancel my subscription.
- Enter your password.
- Click OK to confirm.
- Open Web Access.
- Click on your name on the right and select Profile.
- Scroll down to the Delete your account section.
- Click Delete my account.
- Enter your password.
- Click OK to confirm.

- Scroll down to the Delete your account section.
- Click Delete my account.
📝 Note: If you don’t see this option, contact your Subscription Owner. When Advanced Control is enabled, only Subscription Owners can delete users.
- Enter your password.
- Click OK to confirm.

Personal data handling
We will retain your personal data as long as it is needed for the purposes specified in our Privacy Policy. Such purposes cover e.g. the provision and maintenance of your user account and providing the Tresorit service to you and to other registered Tresorit users as designated by you. However, in certain cases a longer retention period may be required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting or other legal requirements). In these cases, we will hold your data in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations.
When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal data, we will either delete or anonymize it as soon as it is technically possible.
If your personal data is held by us on behalf of your company, we will retain such personal data in accordance with the terms and conditions of our data processing agreement with them, subject to applicable law.
