There are several cases when you may need to reset or delete your account: if you forget your password, need to change your email address, or no longer want to use Tresorit.
Deleting your Tresorit account is a permanent action, and there is no way to reverse it. Read on if you wish to cancel your subscription and leave Tresorit for good.

Avoid data loss
Make sure you transfer the ownership of your folders to someone else before deleting your account. After the deletion, the sync will stop, and your content will be permanently deleted from the cloud.
Collaborators will receive a notification indicating they can no longer access the shared folder in the cloud; previously synced content will still be available on their computers.

How to delete your account
Follow these steps to delete your Tresorit account, including all stored data. If you forgot your password and can't sign in, please read this article to learn how to reset your account.

- Open your Tresorit Profile page.
- Scroll down to the Delete your account section.
- Click Delete my account.
- Click Cancel my subscription.
- Enter your password.
- Click OK to confirm.
- Open your Tresorit Profile page.
- Scroll down to the Delete your account section.
- Click Delete my account.
- Enter your password.
- Click OK to confirm.
- Open your Tresorit Profile page.
- Scroll down to the Delete your account section.
- Click Delete my account.
π Note: If you donβt see this option, contact your Subscription Owner. When Advanced Control is enabled, only Subscription Owners can delete users.

Personal data handling
We will retain your personal data as long as it is needed for the purposes specified in our Privacy Policy. Such purposes cover, e.g. the provision and maintenance of your user account and providing the Tresorit service to you and other registered Tresorit users as designated by you. However, in some instances, a longer retention period may be required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements). In these cases, we will hold your data following the relevant laws and regulations.
When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal data, we will delete or anonymize it as soon as technically possible.
If we hold your personal data on behalf of your company, we will retain it following the terms and conditions of our data processing agreement with them, subject to applicable law.
